If you are in Budapest this weekend and have a taste for Tokaj, or are just curious to sample a slew of sweet and szamorodni offerings from Hungary’s most famous wine region, the place to be is the big annual tasting put on by producer cooperative/promoter Tokaji Renaissance over at Gundel. This year’s event will highlight the 2004 vintage, and will include 18 wineries from the region. It’s open to anyone with Ft 5,000 (€20), which, considering what’s on offer, is a serious bargain.
