How to Discipline a Bad Hungarian Chef Without the Unpleasant Jail Time

shotschef.jpgAs you may have heard, a 52-year-old man from Tárnok burst into Hungarian culinary history on Sunday after he shot the chef of a District XXII restaurant in the eye because he didn’t like his meal. This being Hungary, the pisztoly was actually gas-powered, so the séf‘s pride may have been hurt worse than his eye. But not that badly, because (this being Hungary) none of the many news reports of the unusual crime actually ID’d the restaurant in question, which means we can only speculate about which restaurant in Budafok might serve up food so awful that we would want to bust a cap in the chef’s greasy dome.

It also reminds us to remind you that, there are other ways of expressing your displeasure if you have a bad experience in a restaurant in Hungary, rather than shooting the szakács, waiter, or both. Instead, just go to the page for the restaurant in the restaurant pages of our sister site Caboodle.hu, and write a nasty review listing all the gruesome details of the culinary crime you have suffered, and give the place a big “one star” (poor) rating. Either that, or use a real gun.
