Franz Weninger is a young Austrian winemaker who has branched out across the border into Balf in the Sopron wine region. Despite being a non-Hungarian, he was voted seventh best winemaker in Hungary by Borbarát magazine in 2006. He uses biodynamic processes based on the principles of Rudolph Steiner and produces a variety of wines using international and Hungarian varietals.
