Treacherous Treats (II): Village Bakery Introduces Wood-Flavored Bread Rolls

woody-bread.jpgA piece of wood at least one centimeter in length was recently found baked into a zsemle by an unwitting consumer in the western village of Szügy. According to Blikk, 26-year-old hairstylist Enikő Csikány was having her breakfast when she made the tooth-jarring discovery. Queried by the tabloid, a representative of the national bakers’ association said that regulations require rising dough to be covered so that nothing can fall into it, and that the bakery in question had “made a mistake.” On the other hand, at least this zsemle probably had some flavor and an interesting texture.
