Along with mákos tészta (poppy seed pasta), túrós csusza (“TOO-ROS CHOO-SA “) is a Hungarian pasta dish that non-Hungarians are likely to find somewhat outlandish. In addition to heaps of túró (curd cheese), túrós csusza is usually topped with plenty sour cream and cubes or strips of greasy bacon.
The above picture of a serving of túrós csusza was taken in the restaurant of the Mádi Kúria Hotel in Hungary’s Tokaj region in November, 2006.
