Top Wine Picks of Hungary's "Educated Alcoholics"

Our friends over at Index.hu wineblog Művelt Alkoholista ("The Educated Alcoholic") this week published a "list of lists" cataloguing seven of their editors/contributors' 10 favorite wines of the year. While such exercises are usually pretty boring, resulting in a sweep by a handful of well-known wines, in this case the seven lists included a total of 60 "winners," meaning an overlap of only eight entries (including one import). We don't know whether this means the seven tasters are especially immune from "super wine" hype, or are just too drunk to get their stories straight, but just for the record here are the wines that managed to impress at least two of the country's more well-educated boozers:
- Alana Sárgamuskotály 2005 (on three lists)
- Degenfeld Édes Szamorodni 2004 (on two lists)
- Gróf Buttler Pinot Noir Selection 2004 (on two lists)
- Légli Riesling 2006 (on four lists)
- Nyári Ödön Rajnai Rizling 2006 (on two lists)
- Oremus 6 puttonyos aszú 2000 (on two lists)
- Takler Primarius Merlot 2003 (on two lists)
