Derived from the words “sea” (tenger) and “fruit” (gyümölcs), the phrase tengeri gyümölcs (“TEN-GARY DGE-MULE-CH”) is how Hungarians say “sea food.” While Hungary today is not a maritime nation – unlike during other periods in its history – Hungarians remain fond of salt-water finned fish and shellfish.
