Tárkony (“TAAR-KONYE”) is gaining popularity again in Hungary, where it was grown in many gardens in the past, having allegedly been brought to Europe by the Hungarians during their westward migration in the 10th century.
Today it is used in salads, savanyúságok, soups, meat dishes made from poultry, sheep, lamb, wild game and főzelék made from string beans, peas or potatoes.
