We're currently doing some long-overdue site maintenance that will likely involve some outages, including a temporary shut-down of our commenting functions. We'll hopefully be done within a few days. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and concern!

Szörp

Syrup

In Hungarian, szörp, which is pronounced roughly the same as the word “syrup,” usually refers to fruit syrups. As in other European countries, they are often used to flavor and sweeten up still or sparkling water, and are sold in most grocery stores and hypermarkets.

For related information, see gyümölcs (fruit) and zöldség (vegetables).
