Savanyúság
Pickled Vegetables

Savanyúság ("SHA-VAH-NEW-SHAHG") means "pickled vegetables" in Hungarian. The term comes from the word for "sour," savanyú. Savanyúság is usually eaten with meat dishes accompanied by potato or rice, both as an accompaniment, and, in the case of savanyúkáposzta (sauerkraut), as a primary ingredient.
