We're currently doing some long-overdue site maintenance that will likely involve some outages, including a temporary shut-down of our commenting functions. We'll hopefully be done within a few days. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and concern!

Sárgadinnye

Cantaloupe

Sárgadinnye, the Hungarian word for “cantaloupe,” literally means “yellow melon.” The fruit is grown in Hungary but high quality can be achieved only if plants receive plenty of sunshine and water and are protected from freeze. The fruit is not a typical ingredient in Hungarian dishes but is a popular dessert eaten in itself or with added sugar.
