Sárgabarack, the Hungarian word for “apricot,” literally means “yellow peach,” despite that fact that it is a closer relative of plum than peach. Another name for them is kajszibarack. There are several Hungarian varieties of this fruit, including Gönci magyar kajszi, Kécskei rózsa, Korai piros and Rakovszky kajszi. It is used to make jam, pálinka or barackos gombóc.
