Sajtos-Uborkás Fasírt

Meatball with Cheese and Cucumbers

This version of fasírt uses cheese and cucumbers. It can be eaten with any type of főzelék. The Hungarian version of the recipe was submitted to mindmegette.hu by user Tristi.

Ingredients:
500 grams gound meat
200 grams cheese
1 onion
3 fermented cucumbers
1 stale bread roll (or 1 slice of stale bread)
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 coffeespoon ground caraway seeds
Half coffeespoon hot paprika
Salt
Pepper
For the breading:
Flour
Egg
Bread crumbs
For frying:
Oil

Method:
Cut cheese into small cubes and mix with meat. Beat whole egg and egg yolk, dice the bread roll, mix them and let them sit. Add mixture to meat. Steam onion in a small amount of oil, dice cucumbers and add to mixture. Add spices and stir. Form balls, press them down to form a disc shape, bread them and fry in oil.
