Reports of Segal's Premature Demise Premature
While no publication likes to print corrections, we've just found an exception to the rule. As you may recall, last week we wrote, sadly, that "Top33" staple Segal had closed up shop. But according to an email we just got from the source, it appears we were wrong, at least about the closure being for good:
Dear Chew:
I just finished reading your article on Segal's closure and I am personally touched that you are saddened by this. Let me reassure you that it had nothing to do with "lack of trade" or "lost interest", in fact I have no intention to discontinue the "Segal tradition". Listening to my customers it simply became obvious that it would beneficial to find a location which offers a better set up, proximity and outdoor space. I am planning to be back under the same label at a different location in few weeks' time. I understand that our sudden closure caused a lot of disappointment, however I trust that my instincts and decision to move the venture to a more diverse location will pay dividends...

Good to hear! Unfortunately, from what we know about the shortage of decent restaurant real estate around Budapest, we'd figure it a major miracle if Segal is up and running again in just a few weeks' time. But in this case, we'll be twice as happy to be proven wrong twice.
UPDATE: Happy to be proven wrong; check here for the new location and other details.
