Pub Crawl Stop 1: The Pointer Pub
Since Christmas or thereabouts, two new venues have opened referring to themselves as "pubs," so what better excuse to embark on a short - or very short - pub crawl. The first stop was the Pointer Pub (details), named after the British breed of dog rather than the belligerent British drunk in the middle of an argument. As immediately becomes apparent on entry, this is absolutely nothing like an English pub, except that they serve Bombardier on tap (at a reasonable Ft 600), albeit at a temperature too low to be enjoyable until at least half way down. This is because the place is just the old Western Sörözö with all the cowboy memorabilia replaced by beer mats from around the world. Still, it's not the decor that makes a pub, and this is not the worst place in Budapest to drop in for a drink - especially if you like American rock. Nuff said.

Good stuff, please feature places that don't serve the normal csapolt sörök.
Any EPL on tap?
Uncle Joe: I don't know, but there is a projector and a large screen ready to be rolled down.
It looks much better now, there is some new decoration."Fresh beer" called "Hunters" is also on tap. An LCD TV is on the wall, sports should be on TV soon.
But at least they serve cider and its a nice place to pop in after work.
Sport is on TV now. Friendly staff, yes, cider is available. Their own beer is something special, not the usual "csapolt sor". The decor is far better now than on the photos.
