As our colleagues over at Pestiside.hu recently noted, American socialite, heiress, media personality, model, singer, author, fashion designer and actress Paris Hilton was in Budapest last month to preside over the opening of a downtown luxury boutique. They learned this via a reader who learned of it via a Hungarian celebrity’s “twittering” about the joy of meeting Hilton in the flesh. Intrigued, we followed up to see what Paris was twittering about during her brief stay in Hungary. The answer is – cakes!

In a quick string of tweets beginning here, Hilton gushed about the cakes delivered to her hotel by Sugar!, the very fashionable cukrászda in Újpest we briefly wrote about almost exactly a year ago.

We called up proprietor Eszter Horváth to see why she and her team would have sent so many yummy-looking cakes to someone who looks like she survives on water and salad greens. “She inspired us,” Horváth said. “We had an opportunity and we grabbed it. We were fast.” Horváth designed each of the ten different cakes, which she said were aimed at fitting Hilton’s “exhibitionist” personality.

Apparently it worked: From what Horváth understands, Paris tasted all ten, and, with the help of her boyfriend, also worked her way through some small white chocolate bonbons included in the delivery. As for the ones with the dogs, they were in honor of Hilton’s famous Chihuahua Tinkerbell, who, from what we understood, also enjoyed a little “doggie-bag.” And yes, we’re jealous.

  3. C'est Moi says:

Holy Jeebus they couldn’t bring themselves to fill at least one of those cakes with strychnine!

  4. kelly! says:

SUGAR cakes look amazing on the outside A+, like superficial Paris Hilton! However I’ve sampled all of their cakes and sadly they don’t taste very good (perfect for people/paris who don’t actually eat the cake!) If Paris Hilton was a cake I’m sure her inside wouldn’t be very good either, but at least she looks fantastic!

  5. sheet says:

Leave sweet Paris alone for Pete’s sake. She’s an angel!!! Too bad I never fucked one and prob never will. :(

  6. Robi says:

She’s at least enjoys herself (unlike you weirdos)…

  7. Monika says:

The cakes are beautifully made, you gotta appreciate that. Don’t know how it tastes though…aren’t they for decoration only?(shouldn’t they be?)
My 9 yr old stepdaughter would love all the pink, girly stuff.
