Olaszrizling (“OL-AHS-REES-LING”), known in German as Welschriesling is the most widespread white grape variety in Hungary, although it probably originates from France. The best terroirs for this standard white are Badacsony, Csopak, Egerszólát, Somló and Szent György-hegy.
