The competition office GVH has given their permission to the Nestlé group to purchase the Balaton szelet from Győri Keksz Kft, reports privatbankar.hu. Nestlé Hungária Kft and Société des Produits Nestlé S.A. signed a contract on the purchase of the intellectual rights, know-how, inventory, promotional material and machinery related to the manufacture of Győri’s chocolate covered waffle bars back on April 23, 2008, but approval just occurred recently. The owner of the intellectual rights and the know-how is now Société des Produits Nestlé S.A., while the other acquired tools and rights are owned by Nestlé Kft. Nestlé’s share in the Hungarian chocolate bar market is less than 10%. Győri’s Balaton business branch manufactures chocolate bars only, and its share in the Hungarian market is also less than 10%. As the GVH found that the merge would not create or strengthen an economic advantage or harm competition, it authorized the merger.
