Near Miss in Int’l Design Battle May Re-Ignite Tom-George “Clone Wars”

Via ingatlanmenedzser.hu we hear that the king of Budapest’s high-design “eat and be seen” dining scene – Tom-George – recently made the semi-finals in a prestigious international competition in Barcelona. Unfortunately, the challenge in the Catalonian capital wasn’t a cook-off, but the World Architecture Festival, where the restaurant’s design, by one Attila F. Kovacs of Cube Design, had been entered into the “World Building of the Year” contest. Also unfortunate is the likelihood that the PR from TG’s near-miss will only encourage other local restaurateurs to focus more on what their eateries look like than what their food tastes like. Still, swanky!
