We're currently doing some long-overdue site maintenance that will likely involve some outages, including a temporary shut-down of our commenting functions. We'll hopefully be done within a few days. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and concern!

Mustár

Mustard

Mustár (“MUST-AAR”) has been used in the territory of Hungary since Roman times. Seeds of the plant are used in savanyúságok, especially pickled cucumber, as well as in fish marinades, sauces and certain varieties of kolbász. The leaves of the plant are not commonly used, despite being just as rich in vitamins and minerals as cabbage.

For related information, see fűszer (spices) and fűszernövény (herbs).
