Because of the hybrid Chinese-Japanese nature of its name and primary offering, Momotaro Ramen often seems to lack Kínai "cred." Maybe because of this - though probably not - our District V Asian regular recently added a new special menu of Shanghai favorites. As we had arrived already hungering for some of our long-time favorites, we only had room for the Shanghai peanuts (adding color to the above pic) which seemed to be fresh (as opposed to dried) nuts wok-cooked with some five-spice powder. Yummy! Also on the card is cucumber salad with garlic, celery salad (both Ft 600, as are the peanuts); cold beef salad (Ft 900); and a "nettle fish" salad (Ft 2,200). Meanwhile, you can have your choice of sheep or beef stomach with chili sauce (both Ft 800), or, assuming you have enough room in your own stomach, both.
