Mákos és Diós Metélt

Poppy Seed or Walnut Noodles

This sweet pasta dish can be made with either poppy seeds or ground walnuts, and can serve as a light meal or a dessert. The recipe comes from Szakácskönyv by Ilona Horváth.

Ingredients:
400 grams flour
1 egg
40 grams lard
100 grams ground walnuts or poppy seeds
100 grams powdered sugar of honey

Method:
Knead a dough from the flour and egg, and roll it out thickly or thinly according to your preference. Cut thin noodles (or ones that are as thick as match sticks). After the pasta has been boiled, toss it in the hot grease and mix it with the ground walnuts or poppy seeds which have been combined with the powdered sugar (or honey). To serve, sprinkle some extra poppy seeds or walnuts over the top.
