From our wine business desk comes the news that a liquidator appointed to oversee the dissolution of Keszthely-based wine producer Öregbaglas Borászati és Kereskedelmi Kft has announced that it is putting up the defunct company’s stocks for sale. The almost quarter-million liters of wine being sold off – which is mostly red – is being offered for a “net” price of Ft 61 million (€248,000), or just under Ft 250 a liter. It’s unclear whether the liquids being liquidated are in bulk, or have been bottled. Though if they are in bottles, we’d recommend that anyone who buys them try a new logo, as the one we think they have been using until now (the thing at left that looks like a dying bird) may have been what bankrupted the company in the first place.
