Linguistic Gymnastics Entertain Infopark Diners
An unidentified Internet user snapped this spectacular example of culinary incompetence in the canteen of Budapest's cutting-edge Infopark office complex - and boy it's a good one. By way of explanation, the Hungarian says "horseradish" ("torma") and not "gymnastics" ("torna"), but that still doesn't account for why "csirke" is translated as "turkey" and not "chicken." Didn't spot that one, eh?

In my office building, once upon a time, the sign in English on the revolving door (Forgóajtó) said
"Tourniquet".
But not their fault! That's the translation given
then -- and now! -- by the SZTAKI online
dictionary.

I translated it as 'Horseradish cream stuffed chicken breast".

some translations are bad enough but when they try to translate a typo (torna is not the same as torma) it just gets funnier. :) and it must have been a very large chicken to seem like a turkey, or perhaps if it has feathers it must be a chicken?
