Legényfogó Káposztaleves

Gypsy-style "Man-Catcher" Soup

Hungarians also know the saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, which is why they cook legényfogó (“man catcher”) soups. This Roma/Gypsy variety includes cabbage. This soup is also very useful when you are feeling másnapos (hung over).

Ingredients:
400 grams smoked chuck
2 onions, sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 savoy cabbage, chopped
100 grams gersli
Crushed pepper
Flour
Fat
Paprika

Method:
Boil the chuck and the onion until medium soft. Add the cabbage, barley and garlic. When it is soft, take out the chuck and cut into cubes. Make a rántás from the flour, fat and paprika and add it to the dish. Add the chuck and te pepper and boil one more time. Serve with soft bread.
