Kreinbacher Öregtőkék Bora 2005 (Somló)

This wine from Kreinbacher was featured at Monarchia‘s 2008 portfolio tasting, and was retailing at that time for approximately Ft 3,300.

    This is really nice – velvety, woody, complex. Could drink this all night. A bit expensive, though.

    Very smooth flavor with just a hint of spice that isn’t immediately apparent. A very pleasant wine, even considering the price.

    creamy, buttery, with a hint of vanilla. not too oaky for my taste. a little bittery twist at the end

    Too woody – and too expensive – for me, but I wouldn’t turn it down if someone else was buying.

    Deep green. Caramel, rhubarb, butterscotch on nose – nice mix of sweet and sour joined by strong mineral character on the palate. More approachable and polished than most typical wine of the Somlo region. Good stuff.
