The Kövérszőlő (“KUH-VAYR-SEAU-LEAU”) is a white grape varietal most commonly found in the Tokaj wine region has its origins in Transylvania. The “fat grape” ripens one to two weeks earlier than Furmint and is used to make aszú wines due to its high sugar content and susceptibility to noble rot.
