Univer – a 100% Hungarian-owned food processer – recently introduced a new bottled paprika product called Karikás Pista.
Composed of sliced red and green hot peppers, the company hopes the new condiment will be as successful as their famous hot and sweet paprika pastes – called Erős Pista and Édes Anna – which were introduced in the 1990s. We haven’t had yet seen the new bottles on local store shelves, though when we do we’re sure to buy one of each. In related local condiment news, the company announced at the same time that it has begun go offer ketchup and mayonnaise in large bags (left). Which is fine, as long as it doesn’t lead them to get similar ideas about supersizing the little metal tubes of pizzakrém and spagettikrém they also make. [delmagyar.hu]
