Former businessman István Jásdi ("YASH-DEE") started his winery in 1998 when he bought a 20-hectare vineyard in Csopak, north of Lake Balaton. The vineyard was well-known centuries ago for producing superior wines for the then-owner, the Bishop of Veszprém, János Ranolder, a devoted winemaker.

The area is said to have excellent soil similar to that in France's Burgundy region, and helps Jásdi produce very characteristic wines from a wide range of different grapes, including Olaszrizling (Welschriesling), Chardonnay, Cserszegi fűszeres, Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris), Pinot blanc, Kékfrankos and Furmint. The winery's annual output is 60,000 bottles.
