International News (III): Chaos as Hungarian-French Bistro Debuts Norwegian-English Fish 'n Chips

While on a routine checkup of current "Top 33" member Gerlóczy Kávéház [details/user feedback] [related Chew items] last Friday we were stunned to see on the list of specials a plate of "salmon fish 'n chips" (Ft 2,630/€10) with a strip of breaded norvég lazac in place of whatever the Brits use to make the classic fried shirt-stainer. Don't know if this is the best/worst local example of culinary globalization run amok, but it's certainly a contender. It was also good enough that we might go back for seconds, assuming they don't replace the tartar sauce with Indonesian Sambal Soto chili paste, or otherwise add a fifth country to the mix.
