Insurgent Readers Interrupt Temporary Burgerwar Cease-Fire

I've got it right in my sights.

Some readers have recently written in to enquire about the status of our Budapest Burgerwar™, apparently worried that they missed the conclusion, or that the entire conflict had been quietly settled through some sort of Central European-style "negotiated solution." Well, rest assured, the war is still on; we're just taking a little breather before heading back out onto the battlefield for what we fear will be a savage, no-holds-barred final offensive. But one reader went even farther, sending in a "guerilla" review of a burger that, until now, we didn't even know existed. From E.S. we got the following:

My girlfriend and I went to Ring Bar & Cafe tonight on Andrássy (just across from Pizza Marzano), and their burger wasn't half bad. The restaurant itself seems to be "Mexiterranean", but the burger was pretty good. I attached a couple poorly-lit snapshots from my phone, which probably won't support my recommendation at all, but anyway there you go. I also tried the Gerbeaud Pub burger, and although I did like that one, I actually liked this one better. This came with sautéed onions, pickles, lettuce, and tomato, and was well-cooked. I was a little dismayed when I asked for mustard and they told me they didn't have any, but once I bit into the burger I found that there was in fact a mustard-based sauce already on it. Go figure.

Anyway, just wanted to mention another possible contender in the Burgerwar, which is by far one of my favorite competitions ever. Keep it up!

burgerwarsmall.jpgAll we can say is, we honor you, E.S., for the initiative you and your unit took on this mission, which could have ended in tragedy had you been captured by the management, who given your "irregular" status would have no obligation to afford you the protections of the Geneva Convention. Meanwhile, though the official Burgerwar rules of engagement forbid us from including the findings of non-combatants in our official results, we encourage all like-minded readers to similarly contact the Burgerwar high command via hello AT chew.hu if they have any intelligence regarding local Burger-rich targets we need to hit. Your valor - and, given some of the burgers we tasted, potential sacrifice - will not go overlooked, especially if you don't show up at HQ afterwards demanding to be reimbursed. Good luck, and over and out.
