Hungarians’ Favorite Bottles of Wine Still Jugs, Study Shows

big-gulp.jpgMarket research GfK recently conducted an in-depth survey of Hungarians’ wine-drinking habits, and attitudes towards wine. According to business daily Napi Gazdaság, the survey found that Hungary’s wines are a source of growing pride, and most consuers will choose a domestic wine over an import if the price is comparable. (Though the popularity of imports is apparently rising.) But what really caught our attention is this statistic: of the three million hectoliters of wine quaffed in Hungary per year, only a third of it is sold by the bottle, with much of the rest purchased by small-scale producers directly from the barrel. No wonder our neighbor in the countryside is always looking longingly at the empty plastic jugs we sometimes leave out back!

Yess, but what you buy in Somlo for an instance from a local wine maker will be packed into a jug, but it still a lot better than that import junk from France or Spain what they sell over the corner 600-1000.-/bottle…

Its only better if you are Hungarian

Anyone knows a better kind of container to transport the paint remover called here “wine”?
