We're currently doing some long-overdue site maintenance that will likely involve some outages, including a temporary shut-down of our commenting functions. We'll hopefully be done within a few days. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and concern!

Harcsapaprikás

Harcsa (“HAR-CHA”) is one of the more common forms of fish found in Hungary’s waters. It is most often served as harcsapaprikás, or as the base ingredient for halászlé (fish soup).

See also hal (fish).

The above picture of a serving of a harcsapaprikás is from this January, 2007 review of Budapest’s Menta Terasz restaurant.
