Gohér

Grape Varietal

Gohér ("GO-HEYR") was first documented in the late 16th century. This early ripening grape yields light-bodied white wines and was once very common, particularly in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region. The Gohér made way for other varietals because of difficulties associated with fertilizing its flowers, but some winemakers are returning to experiment with it.
