Galuska

Dumplings

Galuska is made by mixing flour, eggs, salt and water and boiling the dough cut into small pieces in hot water. A special tool called galuskaszaggató can be used to help the process of making the small pieces.

It is a popular accompaniment to dishes such as csirkepaprikás and gombapörkölt, but can also be prepared as a main course (see recipe for tojásos galuska).

If it is made with semolina instead of flour, it is called daragaluska, which can accompany soups.
