Feketeribizli (“FEK-ET-TE REE-BEEZE-LEE”), also spelled fekete ribiszke, grows everywhere in Hungary. As with “normal” ribizli, the fruit is most often used to make lekvár (jam), while the plant’s leaves are used to make tea for treating high blood pressure and kidney problems.
For related information, see gyümölcs (fruit) and zöldség (vegetables).
