Fekete áfonya (“FEH-KEHT-TEH AH-FAW-NIA”), also áfonya, is most often used in Hungary to make syrup, jam or wine, but it is also a popular sauce to accompany game meat. It can be difficult to find at public markets. The extract made from it is sold at pharmacies.
