We're currently doing some long-overdue site maintenance that will likely involve some outages, including a temporary shut-down of our commenting functions. We'll hopefully be done within a few days. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and concern!

Fahéj

Cinnamon

Fahéj (“FA-HEY”) is used in Hungary in a large variety of cakes and other desserts made with apples. It is an important spice in gombóc filled with plum (szilvásgombóc), while ground cinnamon mixed with powdered sugar can be used to fill palacsinta.

For related information, see fűszer (spices) and fűszernövény (herbs).
