Etyek

Wine Region

Etyek (“E-TYEK”) is a wine region built around the town of the same name 30 kilometers to the west of Budapest. Close to the capital, it is ideal for day trips and is filled with pleasant cellars and farmhouses. Formerly known for providing the base for sparkling wines such as the Törley brand, a number of high quality whites are also produced here, notably by the Nyakas Pincészet. The Etyek Cellar Festival is held in late May.
