Dream of World’s Tallest Túrós Palacsinta Ends in Tasty Failure

turo-tower.jpgAn attempt to make the world’s tallest túrós palacsinta tower has failed. The effort was spurred by users of the unusual community website Mr. Noproblem, who submit wishes to the site (e.g. “I want to spend a weekend in Miami”) which are then voted on by users, with the most popular ones then turned into reality. According to portal zoom.hu, Mr. Noproblem and his team went to work on the problem early in the morning on October 7 at Budapest’s Mammut shopping mall, with the aim of beating the current record by 1:00 p.m. But the stack was only half a meter tall around lunchtime when it suddenly collapsed, allowing the current record of 74 centimeters worth of palacsinta layered with túró to remain standing. Its “ruins” were distributed among the audience. Click the link for a video, and like they say on the teevee, don’t try this at home, at least unless you really like túró.
