
The above little chestnut just appeared in our in-box. While it’s entitled “Romania in the EU” and was no meant to show how poor and primitive our eastern neighbor is, we’re posting it anyway, because a) we’re not 100% convinced it wasn’t actually taken in Hungary, and b) because, even if it was taken in Romania, it actually shows how backwards Hungary is. After all, if the Romanians are getting McDonald’s drive-throughs before they have cars, by the time they actually have cars to drive through the drive-throughs, their fast food joints will probably be better than our four-star restaurants.
