Doggie Delivery Available for Budapest's Pampered Pooches

csibesz.jpgSince Budapest takes great pride in its kutya kozmetika salons, it was only a matter of time before Hungarian dogs - and their expat canine counterparts - started receiving more A-list treatment. Now, gourmand dogs on the go, (with their human gourmand owners), can get a hot lunch delivered from Kutya Vacsorája - according to not one but two news reports, this is the first of its kind in Budapest.

According to the Hungarian website, a daily set menu for pooches big and small costs less than most human take-out with double the vitamins, (Ft 320 for one small portion, 320 grams; Ft 550 for 1000 grams). Further, the site boasts that the lunches are "human-approved." You can even order a week in advance, and choose exactly when you want the lunches delivered.

Since the chew.hu editorial team has not yet given Kutya Vacsorája a trial taste - and to be frank, we think it's a tad stupid - anyone who happens to already be lunching with their pooch please throw us a bone and let us know whether or not you, (and your kutyus), give the service a woof! woof!

Dogs don't want delivery, they want what's on the dinner table. I know the pooch in the photo certainly felt that way.

Are people doing this for the dog? Do they dress them in those little outfits for the dogs benefit? Nem. So it's a hilarous portrait of the human. Though Budapest has a ways to go to catch up to the "rent a dog" services in LA and NY. I just wish all these dog owners could please be better pooper scoopers and also stop dogs from peeing all over the sidewalks and my front door. It's awful. I don't care how healthy doggie lunches are, what comes later is seriously hazardous to public health. Gross.
