The Delivery: Los Angeles pizza (32 cm; Ft 1,380); Szex és New York pizza (32 cm; Ft 1,320)

The Lowdown: A few Desk Tests back we treated you to a little rant over the widespread and ongoing delusion in Hungary that a key ingredient of an "American" pizza is corn. While we will continue to maintain that kukorica on pizza is downright un-American, today's delivery certainly helps to put things into perspective.

Among a host of other oddball offerings, newish Netpincér partner Lucky Nuggets is currently pushing a pair of pies that, as Americans like to say, take the cake. Starting in the foreground is the Szex és New York pizza, named after the Hungarian title of the famous American cable TV show "Sex and the City," and which features a layer of sour cream, chicken "ragú," preserved peach slices, ginger and cheese (tejfölös alap, csirkeragu, barack, gyömbér, sajt). Joining it in the background is the "Los Angeles": dilled yoghurt sauce, salmon, sliced orange, and mozzarella (kapros joghurtos alap, lazac, narancs, mozzarella sajt). Needless to say, you are about as likely to find pizzas like this in Los Angeles or New York as you are to find pizzas in Budapest that are like the ones you get in New York or LA.

But here's the interesting twist - they are both pretty good! While one of our Desk Testers immediately peeled off the lightly cheese-coated orange slices, the narancs actually goes rather well with the salmon, or whatever lazac-like fish was actually on the LA. (It was almost perfectly white, but tasted more like salmon than any other fish that we could think of.) Meanwhile, the very faint ginger bite is a lovely compliment to the peaches, which might otherwise seem too sweet. So all and all, these two pies are worth checking out, and not nearly as weird as they look or sound - assuming they don't decide to liven up the sex pie by stick some tongue in.
