Grab a Korsó and Fill Your Stomach at the Csaba Beer Festival and Knuckle Parade

Csaba Beer Festival and Knuckle Parade 2007

The "Csaba Beer Festival and Knuckle Parade" ("Csabai Sörfesztivál és Csülökparádé") held at the Békéscsaba Sports Hall has been a tradition since first being held in 2001. This year's event started on Tuesday and runs through Sunday, and as the highlights of the festival are on the weekend, there is still plenty left to see and do, and drink, of course.

The event is Hungary's most visited beer festival where several beer manufacturers are represented every year to popularize their new and already familiar products. Visitors can taste 30 different types of beer, in addition to Hungarian, Romanian, Serb, Slovak and Czech dishes made from csülök.

Saturday's programs include one of the highlights of the festival, the csülökpörkölt cooking contest. The winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

As Sunday, the last day of the festival, corresponds with Children's Day, there will be plenty of programs for children, including workshops where they can learn to make traditional toys from dry reed (gyékény) and jewelry from beads.
