Túrós csusza is a popular side dish served with lecsó, the Roma/Gypsy version of which is spicy.
Ingredients:
200 grams smoked bacon
300 grams onion, finely diced
Paprika
1 kilogram lecsópaprika, sliced into circles
0.5 kilogram tomato, cut into wedges
5 or 6 cloves of garlic, crushed
Salt
Sugar
1 or 2 hot peppers, halved
Method:
Cut the sliced bacon like a rooster’s comb and fry in a pot. Add the finely diced onions and stir until golden. Add paprika, peppers and tomatoes. Add crushed garlic, salt, sugar and hot peppers. Steam for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with túrós csusza or tarhonya.
