Ciao Budapest (I): Welcome to Italy Week at Chew.hu



No, the above pics are not from some just-opened Italian restaurant in Budapest. Instead, they are a few shots we took last week during our whirlwind, eight-day eating tour of north-central Italy. (That's stuffed zucchini flowers from near Venice up top, a nice little plate of pasta with pesto from Florence in the middle, and a delicious pigeon risotto from Lucca at bottom.) Since this website is about eating and drinking in Hungary rather than eating and drinking in Italy, we're not going to bore or torture you with more details on what we enjoyed in olaszország. Instead, we are going to use our "field research" as the basis for a second all-olasz week, this time in Hungary, to see how our local Italian fare compares to the genuine article. So stay tuned, and buono appetito!
