Cash-Strapped Breeder Forced into Pig Handout

diszno1.jpgGyörgy Sári, a pig breeder from Sándorfalva (Csongrád County) known for his generosity, is so low on cash that he was forced to give away live pigs to needy local families this year - instead of donating money to a local foundation as he usually does. Sári gave away 19 pigs, each weighing 70 kilos, to local families, most of which are raising eight or nine children. Some of the families have already slaughtered the pigs, while others decided to fatten them up for Christmas. Sári has been providing support to the Foundation for Sándorfalva (Sándorfalváért Alapítvány) for over a decade, helping the development of local education and cultural life. Not this year - he blamed a crisis in the industry on his financial woes, writes Hirszerzo.hu. Sári said that he hoped his charity action will raise awareness of the problems pig breeders face. Anyone wondering what these problems might be is not alone, Hírszerző failed to provide an explanation.
