Camembert

Camembert

There are two kinds of Camembert made in Hungary, Bakony Camembert and Tihany Camembert, both produced by Veszprémtej Zrt. Bakony Camembert comes in three flavors: plain, green spices and chives. Tihany Camembert comes is four flavors: plain, caraway, black pepper and garlic-spice. Hungarian Camemberts are popular, but their critics say they are inferior to the French varieties. Like all Camembert cheeses, they are recommended to be accompanied by rosé wines if they are less ripe, such as Villányi or Szekszárdi Rosé, and red wines, such as Villányi Kékoportó, Zweigelt, Szekszárdi Kadarka or Eger Pinot Noir, if they are more ripe.
