We're currently doing some long-overdue site maintenance that will likely involve some outages, including a temporary shut-down of our commenting functions. We'll hopefully be done within a few days. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and concern!

Bográcsgulyás

A bogrács (“BO-GRATCH”) is a cauldron used for cooking outdoors, usually over a wood fire. In Hungary it is most often an unpretentious, inexpensive item made from simple metal with an enameled coating, but can also be made from copper. Occasionally restaurants will serve gulyás and pörkölt from small ornamental bográcsok warmed with a candle or alcohol burner.
