Mutton Stew

Hungarians often cook this dish outside in a cauldron for large gatherings, for example, at harvest time. This is a translation of a recipe submitted to mindmegette.hu.

Ingredients:
1-1.5 kilograms mutton
150 grams fat or oil
3 onions
2 peppers
1 tomato
Salt
Paprika
Cherry pepper
Red wine

Method:
Wash meat, trim fat and cut into dice. Dice the onions and fry in fat or oil until glassy. Remove from heat, add paprika and meat, stir and add a small amount of water or red wine. Salt to taste. Dice the tomato and pepper or some cherry pepper and add to pot. Cook on low heat and replace water if needed. Serve with potatoes boiled in salty water.
